Our House by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
I feel like this represents the season that I am in. After working so hard for years, my fiancé and I are finally hitting our stride and seeing the fruits of our labor. It’s a new chapter in our lives and we couldn’t be more excited.

Pasos by Soda Stereo
Pasos is a song that has followed me since I was a teen. It brought to life moments when I had to step into new things, new places, new friendships and partners, and especially new little lives to mine.

As Warm As the Sun by Bryan Vargas & ¡Ya Está!
Every time I hear this song I am overcome with a sense of peace, warmth, and joy. Just like the title, it’s as if being kissed by the sun.

Simple Minds by New Gold Dream [81, 82, 83, 84]
There are songs with lyrics about happiness, sunshine, being champions (?), dreams coming true, but I would argue very few of those songs soundlike what they mean. What I like about this one is that the lyrics don’t demand attention; instead the vocals build like an incantation, starting low and muttering, repeating until they’re being shouted into the sky over shimmering synthesizers. I said the lyrics don’t matter, but actually, the music feels like waves crashing, the glow of memory, wanting so badly for someone to “dream in the dream” with you. There’s insistent momentum to it: two drummers on the recording, propulsive bass and a ruthless cowbell. It ends as it begins, by fading (a nearly forgotten technique today), which only adds to its dreaminess, leaving nothing but wonder, as if the whole thing just sails off for eternity.*

Take a Giant Step by Taj Mahal
This song found me at a turning point in my life. I had just stepped into single motherhood and was facing the unknown. One morning, lost in thought on my drive to work, this song came on the radio, and something clicked. It was like the universe telling me to keep going, to take that next step with courage. Even now, whenever I need a boost of hope or reassurance, I play it. The lyrics, “Come with me and leave your yesterday,” always remind me to embrace what’s ahead with open arms.

U.F.O by Jim Sullivan
Jim Sullivan's story is both fascinating and curious. He hung out with movie stars of the early 1970s and played small gigs in Malibu, California, before suddenly disappearing while traveling through the desert on his way to Nashville, Tennessee. After his disappearance, his 1969 album U.F.O. faded into obscurity until it was reissued by Light In The Attic Records in 2010. Sullivan’s weathered Americana voice, paired with lush strings and soft trumpets, makes this a perfect song for driving with the windows down on those last sunny days of summer.

Nice Nice by Flanafi
This song invokes reflection and warmth at times when I need to stay in the moment a while longer.

It Goes Like (na na na) by Peggy Gou
This song has the same lyrics repeating over and over but the beat and tune of it makes me wanna get up and dance- enjoying the current moment and relishing in any joy I can muster up. It reminds me to have fun in life and fully enjoy moments before they’re over!

True Love by Hovvdy
I don’t really know why, but this is the first song that came to mind. For some reason I always play this song when I’m traveling by plane. I associate it with seeing the sun setting over the clouds and the change that comes with every trip. As a nostalgic person, change is always hard; songs like this encourage me to embrace it warmly.

Abdelazar Suite, Z. 570: VI Air by Henry Purcell, Johan Roman, and George Handel
As it seems to embody the slow build of day to day consistency that culminates in a milestone being achieved. The beginning gives me a feeling of looking out on the horizon with a telescope, setting a trajectory, and culminating into the realization of ones dreams. One of my favorite quotes is by Einstein who said 'There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is an unavoidable miracle.

Something Out Of The Blue by Stevie Wonder
A song about coming out of hard times and accepting love. It has one of Stevie’s most beautiful melodies that really captures the unexpected paths a new journey can lead you down.
Kevin
Stubborn by Mayday
The lyrics talk about being different and not giving up even when things are hard, and feeling proud of yourself. This song feels like those special moments in life when you feel very happy and strong, like starting a new chapter.

In Love With You For The Last Time by Arthur Russell
To me, this song embodies some of the golden moments of life — the moments in between moments: sitting in a patch of sunlight, waiting for the bus; sitting in the crushing silence, waiting for a first kiss; sitting impatiently, waiting for an idea to strike, a revelation; waiting for the right moment to say goodbye to someone for the last time. Though we bear these moments until the “true moment” comes, these are the moments that truly make up our lives.

Gold by Cleo Soul
This album is great on its own, but the moment I hear the word 'gold,' this song immediately comes to mind. Cleo Sol is an incredible artist whose voice and lyrics inspire and uplift—it’s truly heartwarming. This song Gold, ]affirms the love we have for those around us, but most importantly, for ourselves. I love listening to it whether I'm feeling high or low.
