Yellow Guanyin is an early-sprouting cultivar created at the regional agricultural institute from a cross of Huang Dan “Yellow Dawn” and Tieguanyin “Iron Goddess of Mercy.” Its name is a sort of portmanteau of the two. Picked in April and slow roasted over charcoal beginning in summer, the Zhous are experts at evoking Yan Yun (the beautiful, vaporous aftertaste of Yancha) from their teas through mavenly roasting. Presently, and through all seasons, Zhou family teas have been a fixture of our catalog. Yellow Guanyin lends an uplifting and peacefully inspiring touch to any day. Touting tawny liquor and powerful, bewitching aroma, this selection is an otherworldly delight. Notes of Osmanthus, Cacao Nibs, Seville Orange peel.
