Elegant leathery leaves yield a sinuously smooth cup with sweet wood, rhubarb, and prune notes.

Mr. Feng has a longstanding fascination with heritage oolong varieties. His tea garden on the slopes of the freshwater Feicui reservoir has been a study in four generations of some of China's most historically beloved styles. This one, a stylistic cousin of ‘Tieguanyin’, is a depreciated but resurgent breed in Taiwan. Commonly misattributed for its size resemblance to the human hand, Buddha’s Hand is named for the phalanged citron fruit with floral, lemon and yuzu qualities. The tea touts large leaf shape, smooth mouthfeel, almost undetectable astringency and, in medium oxidation contexts like Feng’s, a prune, plum and sherry-like sweetness. Notes of cedar, rhubarb and prune.
