The husband and wife team of the Zhous have been quietly producing some of the best examples of orthodox “Rock Tea” oolongs in their Wuyi garden for years. Our second Qi Lan is a return to tradition—an oolong production—though it’s anything but typical. Harvested in late April from the mineral-rich soil regular to the area, this Qi Lan (lit. “Rare Orchid”) comes from Lian Hua Feng. Low-oxidized, the signature touch lies in three low-heat, extended baking periods where the sweetness of the style is inspired. We are lucky to offer the Zhou’s handiwork to you. Notes of candied apricot, sandalwood, and sassafras.
