In 1976 in the village of Zi Mao, a wildfire endangered the Gun Hua Xiang cultivar, threatening the famous ‘Osmanthus Fragrance’ oolong. Thankfully like the legendary phoenix style this tea is named for, our previous flower rose from the ashes of the decimated tea fields. Clouded in the mid spring mist of the Wu Dong region of Fenghuang Mountain, this tea reveals a marzipan like aroma. Our dear friend Ms. Zhang has crafted this tea within an initial electric bake, and a gentle roasting process, revealing notes of blueberry preserves, macadamia nuts, and ripe stone fruit.
