This black tea is a Qi Zhong (heirloom variety) from the prized cliffs of Songxi. Our young producer friend Ms. Pan harvested this, one of the many indigenous varieties on her land in Wuyishan. Wuyishan is a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its clean water, natural beauty and biodiversity. Each iteration of Qi Zhong is a little bit different, even from the same region. After drying, the Wild Cliff is gently toasted over bamboo charcoal imparting toasted malt and chocolate character. Notes of dark chocolate, cedar, and miso.
